Our Educational Philosophy

At Sharada Prabha, our educational philosophy centres on the unfoldment of each child. We hold that our vision cannot be fulfilled without your constant support and cooperation—for a child spends nearly three times as many hours at home as at school. For this reason, it is essential that the home environment mirrors the school environment.

To support this shared journey and help bring our shared vision to life:

  • We encourage you to adopt our child-centered teaching approaches at home, so that learning becomes a natural part of everyday life. Like ours, let your focus also be on competency, based on application and self-assessment, rather than on marks, based on rote learning and competition with peers.
  • We hold Parenting Workshops and Parenting Seminars regularly on important topics for the child’s holistic education. Being essential for your child’s holistic development, your attendance at these programs is mandatory.
  • We also encourage you to reflect on our ‘Pointers for Parents’ and apply them at home consistently—throughout the year, even during holidays and vacations.
  • Most importantly, be a positive role model for your child.

Let us walk together in facilitating the full unfoldment of your child’s highest potential.

A Request to Parents: Honouring Each Child’s Unique Journey

Just as each flower blossoms in its own way and in its own time, we believe that every child is unique and on their own unique journey. The purpose of education is to nurture the natural unfolding of every child’s unique potential.

At Sharada Prabha, we therefore discourage comparison and competition among peers. We request parents to support us in this approach by refraining from comparing their child with others. We strive to see all students with equal vision—not in terms of equal outcomes or even identical opportunities at the same time, but rather in offering equal care, respect and attention to each child’s unique journey and stage of growth.

To push a child to become something that is not in harmony with their intrinsic personality, or to hasten their development without regard for their inner rhythm, is not only unfair and unkind, but may also negatively impact their self-esteem and overall well-being.

Let us honour each child’s unique journey and walk alongside them with trust in theeducational process, patience for the pace and a deep understanding of life.
